Content

This course covers the technical protocol for the ultrasound insufficiency evaluation for the lower extremity peripheral venous system. This examination starts with an initial patency assessment. We will review how to image the peripheral venous system for patency with B-mode, color Doppler, and spectral pulsed wave Doppler. We will practice orienting via anatomic landmarks and image optimizing along the way.

We continue with the technical protocol for the ultrasound insufficiency evaluation for the lower extremity peripheral venous system. Following the initial patency assessment and deep vein assessment we will assess valve competency in the deep veins, in the great saphenous vein and the other saphenous veins.
