This activity is jointly provided by:
Medical Education Resources and Universal Ultrasound

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Medical Education Resources (MER) and Universal Ultrasound. MER is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

MEDICAL FACULTY

Universal U multidisciplinary physician faculty guides attendees towards a profound comprehension of ultrasound as the third dimension, seamlessly integrating with diverse imaging techniques.

  • Dr. Rajesh Dave
    Interventional Cardiologist

Dr. Dave' will start the day off by delving into his expert insights on carotid artery, aorta-iliac and peripheral artery diseases and interventions on identifying optimal access points, the importance of plaque characteristics, and highlighting the significance of mapping runoff vessels in Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI) patients.

Gain valuable knowledge on key concepts that will undoubtedly enhance the overall comprehension of our attendees.

  • Dr. Alex Misono
    Interventional Radiologist

Embark on a comprehensive exploration of peripheral venous disease and interventions, gaining insights into venous obstruction and compression. Emphasizing the importance of mapping the lower extremity and outflow vein, and accurately interpreting ultrasound findings.

Utilizing this knowledge is crucial for enhancing the patient pathway and improving outcomes.

  • Dr. Charles Dietzek
    Vascular Surgery

Provides valuable insights into the superficial venous system, emphasizing the importance of conducting a reflux examination and offering tips and tricks. He explains the importance of appropriate mapping of the superficial system, discussing the significance of documenting the axial veins, perforators and tributaries properly.

This approach is geared towards improving the quality of life for patients who suffer with chronic venous insufficiency.

Physician faculty members will rotate through interactive stations with attendees, participating in discussions on clinical presentations, ultrasound findings, and treatment strategies.

The Universal Ultrasound Sonography team will be present at each station, guiding participants through live patient scans, explaining the pathology presented, and addressing the "HOW" aspect. The focus of the discussion will be on efficient protocols, documenting the pathological extent and severity, and understanding its hemodynamic effects.

Participants will also gain valuable insights into proper ergonomics, patient positioning, and image optimization during this session.
